Residents Experiencing Secondary Trauma (REST): Program Intervention at a Tertiary Academic Pediatric Hospital

      Secondary trauma (ST) is the negative emotional response experienced by medical providers when unanticipated patient events occur. Critical Incident Stress Management recommends providing support within 24 to 72 hours. Children's Mercy Kansas City (CMKC) Residency Program did not have a formal system for resident support after events at high risk for ST.
